Temperatures fell below freezing early Friday morning prompting the area's first freeze warning from the National Weather Service. The frost covered most everything that was close to the ground, like these fallen leaves. The Madison County Emergency Management Agency's weather station recorded a low temperature of 29 degrees at 7:57 a.m. Friday morning. The average date for the first killing freeze for the area is October 18th.
