The demolition of the clubhouse and some other structures began Monday at the former Boca Real Golf Course near Cross Street and Scatterfield Road. The site was recently purchased by Crossroads United Methodist Church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road, which plans to turn the five-acre site into a prayer park for use by the community. Congregation members wanted to get the structures removed before winter, said Senior Pastor John Hackney. Other acreage of the former golf course were purchased by Bethany Pointe Health Campus.
