MLK awards

Tyler Barnes, Leanda Slayton, and Alicia O'Neal were recognized for their academic achievements at the 25th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Awards Luncheon held Saturday at the Madison Park Church of God. Barnes, who attends Anderson Preparatory Academy, received a $2,000 student merit award. Slayton, of Anderson High School, was awarded $3,000 for academic achievements. Anderson Preparatory student Alicia O'Neal earned a $5,000 distinguished achievement award.
