Chesterfield police officer Adam Rue apprehends a suspect portrayed by Wes Owen as his is covered from left by Sgt Nasel Road and Jeff Stigall during a simulated traffic stop of a dangerous suspect during training at the Anderson Municipal Airport on Thursday. Chesterfield Police Chief William Ingles and Cpt. Jim Cleaver with the Sheriff's Department organized the training for local law enforcement at the Anderson Municipal Airport and the Millcreek Civic Center. The state mandated training covered several topics and included an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course set up at the airport. Over 125 officers from several local agencies received training in four hour blocks over three days. "We all work together why not train together," said Chief Ingles. Having the training available locally also saves departments the expense of sending officers to the Academy for the mandated refresher training.
