From left, Director of ICU and Ortho Neuro Cindy Bisser, ICU Clinical Manager Shelby Sloan and Pulminary Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Brad Rector talk about the new intensive care unit at Community Hospital Anderson on Wednesday. Community's new intensive care unit has five more beds than the previous unit and more room for equipment. The unit, which now has a total of 17 beds, has a lift in each room for the protection and ease of patients and staff. A lot of the changes were made to staff areas within the unit, including a centralized medication room, a large, connected nursing station with nursing pods along the hallway and new areas for doctors to talk with families about the plan of care for patients.
